Day 26 - October 23rd (Day 14 of 65)

Took my father around to the house today. He was happy with the progress thus far and liked the steel frame. We did a basic clean up of the site, as they had left items on the block next door that needed to be moved off it. I noticed that the property had some holes in the ground taken for the soil sample. This means they are getting ready to build very soon. We did ours about two months before we started building.

They mustn't be asking for anything special, as when we put the plans into council we had to approach each neighbor to see if they minded us moving the house forward one metre. At the time this block of land was still owned by the developers.

While we work cleaning up all the rubbish that was left around the site, we had a friendly couple with their children stop by and ask us which home we were building. They are building not too far away from us, and are also looking at the Metricon Grandview. When you go through one of the Grandview display homes (listed here where they are on display), you'll understand why.

We swept out all the soil that had been bought onto the slab and also removed the extra soil that had been moved over the concrete throughout the outdoor room. We will need to get the deck added here after handover and having the soil there would have made it harder.

I took some photos of the site today. I also got some video. The weather today was great! :

The front doorway looking right through to the outdoor room.

The shower recess in the main bedroom. Need to get that bolt corrected....

All the soil has been added to the side of the block now.

A video showing the end of the frame stage.

What's the forecast saying?
