Day 11 - October 8th (Day 5 of 65 - inclement weather day 3)

Wow...was it wet! Yes. It started raining last night and here in Brisbane, it pounded down. The weather forecast was correct for a change. I am hoping it is not correct always as it is predicting rain for the next week!

Got out to the property pretty late today. Nothing was done as could be expected with the weather. I am not sure what they are going to do if the weather keeps up like the forecast is predicting?

I note that some more of the steel frame arrived. Looking at my photos, it was delivered yesterday. It was just hidden around the corner.

We also got our first Tax invoice today. sent via express post, and it arrived when I expected ;-> . Payment request is for Stage 02 - the Base stage. We will have the Frame stage completed next, followed by the Lockup, Fixing and finally the Completion stage.

Wet weather forecast for the future...

I thought today I might show you some some of our "happy snaps" from the display home we visited when deciding upon getting this home. These are from the Metricon Grandview 30 located at Northlakes in Brisbane.

These photos show the entrance way and the front windows of the home. We are having  the same type of house, just with different colours. I really like the way that Metricon choose their colours. They are in line with our own thoughts.

Once you are inside they had some of the iron artwork on the wall. Not sure what it is I like about it exactly. Perhaps it is the detail the art has, but it is defined by a small range of colours. This picture is looking from the front door towards the rear of the building. From here you can see the outdoor entertaining area and catch a glimpse of the Lounge and Kitchen.

If you turn left after coming in the doors however, you see bedroom two in front of you, the bathroom to the right hand side and bedroom one to the left. Our home will be a little different here, as this area has a walk in wardrobe and the toilet door will also be visible from this view.  You can see on the right a cupboard space.
At the end of the hall you can go right and just past the bathroom you will come across bedroom three.

That's another difference between our home and this one. Our home will have a "children's retreat" (the study!) in between the bathroom and this third bedroom.

This is bedroom one.

This is bedroom two.

This is the bathroom (One of two the house has).

This is the third bedroom...  For grandma when she visits!

One of the things we liked about the home is the "rich" colours they had chosen. We particularly liked the red timber look, even though we are using a steel frame ;-> .

I'll save the rest of the house for another quiet day at the worksite.
