Day 15 - October 12th (Day 9 of 65 - inclement weather day 7)

Well I thought that the workmen might have got onsite today, as we had the sun peering through the clouds every now and then. But alas, the rain also made a couple of appearances, so nothing was done again today.

Not sure what happens when the builders run out of  "inclement weather days" ? I presume they just swap some of the time with the "calculable delays" they have? (Hence the 55 (calculable) + 10 (inclement) = 65 days. These are called "claimable delays" ). Part of the problem as the owner, is you are not made aware of what days are considered "inclement weather days", and what is a "calculable delay" day.

For example,  the builder may normally work Mon - Fri, but if it rains on Sat and Sun, then those two days are just two from the 55 days they would normally have - i.e. 2 calculable delay days. So this is the reason why I have just been adding them together. If I know it is 65 claimable days in total, the rest doesn't matter.

This building will be going over the Christmas / New year time frame, and the contract also provides the builder an allowance for this for a 3 week period which usually commences around the 22nd of December each year. So by this, we are at 30 days already. They still have another 35 days up their sleeve to work with
;->.

I thought today I might go through some of the colours we have chosen for the inside of the building.

For the floor we chose a tile known by Metricon as the MAXFL 8030 400 x 400.

For the shower areas in both the Ensuite and Bathroom, we choose a tile known by Metricon as the MAXWL005 300 x 100.

In the Ensuite, we also decided to change the sidewalls to a different tile known by Metricon as the MAXFL 8032 400 x 400.
The last tile we choose was for the laundry recess. We choose the tile known by Metricon as the MAXWL006 300 x 100.

  For the Caesarstone kitchen bench we decided upon Ice Snow (9141).

The kitchen cupboard will be covered with Nocturne Oak Laminex.

We have also chosen Bristol Bedouin Beige for the paint colour for all the walls and the splashback located in the kitchen is going to be done in Bristol Quarry. I couldn't locate these colours online...I guess that Bristol don't want you assuming the colour will be identical... ?

Will they start work again tomorrow? If the forecast is correct they should...

Stay tuned....
