Wivenhoe Dam Update
"South East Queensland’s largest drinking water storage Wivenhoe Dam has reached 100% capacity for the first time since January 2001.
The level has not reached the trigger point requiring Seqwater to undertake controlled gate releases. Instead Seqwater will increase releases through the hydro-electric plant built into the Wivenhoe Dam wall over the next 10 days or so to reduce the level to just below supply.
It is important to note that in addition to the drinking water supply capacity, Wivenhoe Dam has flood storage 1.5 times the size of the drinking water storage capacity."
Took another photo today...Nothing has changed of course.
Today I thought I might continue showing you around the home we saw at Northlakes in Brisbane. The introduction to all this started here (in case you missed it).
These are photos of the Family room. It is located on the right hand side as you come down the hallway. One item we did change in the design of our home to what we are seeing here, is we went for the Grandview 36 instead of the 30. Part of the reason for this was that we saw it when Metricon had a display home at Wakerly, and we absolutely loved it. As a result the Grandview 36 has a Living area before you reach the Family area.
We loved the rich earthy tones used throughout the home. To the right of the image below you can see part of a very long window. This home also had some nice cutouts in the wall where the TV went. We have modified this entire wall to suit our requirements with two large cutouts surrounding the TV in the middle.
Our home will have one light inside each cutout.
Here you can see the other side of the Family room, and a large mirror that has been placed in the wall.
This is the kitchen area which is located to your left as you come down the hallway from the front of the house. You can see the walk in pantry in this home. Again, by choosing the Grandview 36, we got a much larger pantry. At the display home in Wakerley they had a sink in here! Funds wouldn't allow us to do this so we choose the boring old option of just shelves.
This is the Dining area, and you can also see in the rear of the photo the outdoor entertaining area, which is accessed by two large timber bifold doors. We choose the same in our home.
A view back inside the house from the outdoor entertaining area, looking at some of the art work they had chosen. This house had a cutout in the wall to the left of this art. Our home will not.
We will continue looking through the home on the next wet day (probably tomorrow :> )
