Day 51 - November 17th

Spoke with our site supervisor today and he has provided me with an update on what is occurring.

1) The pipes that were added to the wrong spot have now had the inspection by Termicide Pest Management and the "Form 16" has been provided for me. This makes me much happier. This was done on the 5th of November according to the paperwork.
2) The issue with the wall in garage that needs to be corrected. The Site supervisor is aware of this and it will be corrected.
3) We are not able to work on the property until after handover, (which was what I expected) so the deck work will have to be left until after this time.
4) We are not able to get into the house after lockup, but are able to ring the site supervisor to arrange an inspection.   (Ah well!  If there was a chance, I was going to get a key, I was going to take it! - I was wondering if we could get in over the Christmas period to show the family?)
5) The bracket on the roof guttering that hasn't been attached will be resolved shortly.

Today they very nearly completed the brickwork. They have also cut a lot of the cornice work and have added it to the rooms to be installed.

Here you can see the eaves framework that has been added today.

--
The front portico area has almost been completed. Still need to complete the pole on the right.

The cornice plasterboard in the living room.

The family room has been completed.

 --
The outdoor room. They just need to do under the windows here.

--

--
You can see the area that some of the eaves plasterboard will be located. Looking around the property today revealed some of this ready to be installed.

--
You can see some of the plasterboard cut out here for the under the box windows (it's sitting on the sill of each window at the moment).

Some of the eaves boarding awaiting installation.

The cornice for the master bedroom.

Inside the garage. The brickwork looks good from the inside.

Outside the garage.

The front of the property.

  1. Don't you hate that? The brickies couldn't work another 5 minutes to lay the final courses on top of the portico piers. Now they have to come back for 5 mins work.

  2. It has been spelt out from the beginning that no other work is to be performed while the builder is in possession of the lot. Did you know that you aren't even supposed to be on site? No they won't lend you their keys.

I had known a friend who built a Perry home, and he lived next door to a man who used to work for them. The next door neighbour asked if he would like the builders key (master key that will open any home that is being built by the builder). He said yes, so each time he went by to inspect the home, he was able to help himself inside. Now, all we need is to know a contractor that works for Metricon. If I find one, I will lend you the key also.
