The builders were back onsite again for a short while today. The have bricked around Bedroom two and three now. The large bifold doors and bifold windows were also installed today, and they also added some type of paste to the area where the pipes were moved. Not sure what it is exactly. I'll need to check this with the site supervisor.
The fibro sheeting which will be used under the eaves was also delivered today. It looks to me like they are going to be very busy next week!
I got a number of photos, and also took some video.

The front of the house.
--
The front wall of bedroom three.
--
The side wall of bedroom three. The brickies are doing a great job!
--
The eaves lining.
--
--
I guess this timber may be used to attach the eaves to perhaps?
--
The posts that will support the portico have now been installed.
--
Some more timber that was delivered today.
--
--
They will be starting the bricking around these two poles soon...
--
A photo showing how the poles are mounted.
--
Ditto on the other side.
--
This is where the man hole will be.. In the garage!
--
They have relined the concrete before they refill it .

This is the gas piping ..It's pretty hard to see the yellow writing on it, but it is there...
I found this tonight from the QLD Governement
Pipe sizes are generally listed according to outside diameters and wall thicknesses. For example, a pipe listed as 20 x 2 x 2 means it has a 20 mm outside diameter with 2 composite walls, each of a total of 2 mm thickness—a bore of 16 mm.
Colour/markings: Composite gas pipe is generally yellow with black lettering; black pipe with yellow lettering is also acceptable. The pipe markings must include: AS 4176/maker’s name/gas/pipe size.

The large bifold doors have now been mounted.
--
And the same for the bifold windows.

A wide shot of the outdoor area.
I'll be heading over to the block on the weekend to give it a clean up and also to run through some rope to allow me to pull through some speaker cable after handover. The site supervisor has said:
"The only things I ask is it be non-conducting, and please tape it to the frames so it can't move, note on your plans where it is as we will not cut out holes in the plasterboard for anything not marked on the electrical plan."
It's just Metricon covering themselves. As you can imagine, it wouldn't be good for a home to burn down due to someone's household wiring!
Some videos from today:

Looking great! The bricks look fabulous, especially from a distance where the blending really stands out. Its definitely coming along now!
ReplyDeleteIts funny the way things are done differently on each build/state. Our timber doors won't be installed for a while yet even though our bricking is finished.
Good work on the blog - I am enjoying the regular updates!
Thanks Shayne. Good to here from you. I have noticed that it seems to take a fair bit longer on a double story house as compared to our single story home?
