Took my Father out to the property today, as I needed a hand to lay out the cabling for the home theatre. Going on what our site supervisor has requested, I have run some rope through the frame. Of note, because it is a steel frame, I have also used some piping where the cables need to go around corners, or through the holes made for cables. It is a bit of a concern when you build in steel, as suddenly you have a very electrically conductive medium to work with, and some of the edges can be a little sharp, hence why I have used the piping. I note that this is probably one of the reasons Metricon don't want the owner to install cabling before the house is complete, as they would be held liable.
I still need to finish off some items tomorrow such as behind the TV, but for the mean time it looks good.
We also went around the outside of the home and removed any rubbish that may have collected the past week. The site looks great now.

Gave it a sweep on the inside....

This is some of the rope we ran today so we can pull through the speaker wires after completion.
(The sub woofer location).

Cabling from the rear speaker and the sub woofer.

The cabling runs down the back of the wall cavity ...
--
The rope is all sitting at the bottom ready to be pulled through at a later time.
--
I used some electrical piping to run the cabling through. I should have purchased some 30mm pipe instead of the 25 mm as it would have fit that much easier...
This is behind the center speaker.

Behind the right speaker.

Behind the left speaker.

Cabling in the roof space in the outdoor area. This is for two speakers we will add at a later time.

Ditto.
Tomorrow I just need to do the area behind the TV.
Weather is looking good for next week.

You would hate for the pull cables to disconnect from the wires you want to pull through. It would be painful trying to find where it fell off.
ReplyDeleteTrue. A lot easier than trying to feed it through a small home in the metal framework however :>, and I have seen it doen before. Seems to work very well.
