The countdown has begun!! I managed to chat with our site supervisor today and he has provided me with the date of the 8th of February for completion. He said that we are welcome to take ownership of the home as soon as we like after this date. So in the end it will be determined by the bank I guess...
The inside of the home looks almost complete, with just the carpets to go. There are a couple of minor details that need correcting, but overall, I am very happy with the build. It has been done very well.
The issues that I need to raise are:
- Bracket on the gutter is loose. Needs fixing
- Gutter is dripping in a spot near the rear of the garage. Not sure why?
- The garage door, when it was delivered, had some dings in it. I think this must happen to every build have seen.
- The light in the front bedrooms walk in robe is not working.
- There is a pipe still sticking out of the ground at the front of the property that they removed when they fixed the power coming into the home.
- The grills on the pipes n the ground outside the home need attaching.
- One of the surface drains has been capped..... Needs to be uncapped and work as shown on the plans...
- Need plans showing where the pipes are laid in the ground, so when it comes time to dig the outdoor room patio, we don't hit one!
- Man hole needs cleaning as there is red soil surrounding it. Not sure where the cover has gone?
- Doors in living room cupboard are stuck together on one side and miles apart on the other....
- Need to screw down some of the winding mechanisms on the windows.
I think that's it...
We have booked in a walk through with him on Friday afternoon. Hopefully my wife can make it! We have a concreter coming on Wednesday to have a look at the driveway...Just need to get a date that we can get this done on from the site supervisor...

First they have to send you the final invoice before the bank can process the final payment. That won't be done until PC. So basically he is saying the quicker you can organise it, the quicker you can have keys.
ReplyDeleteThose sticky doors looked warped, or is it an optical illusion. Would explain why it's sticky.
I got my washing machine the other day and wanted to fit the hoses to the tap and discovered they hadn't hole sawed the sink cabinet.
Ours is due for the 8th too, but we cant get the final invoice so we cant book the bank in to value it so who knows when we will be able to get the cheque! All looking good!
ReplyDeleteJayJay: they havent drilled our hole in the ldy cabinet yet, i must remind them!
The have drilled ours :> . Our Site supervisor said that it is more than likely that the final invoice is on its way now.
ReplyDeleteDoors..Yes...Something is bent I think.....
