Day 134 - February 8th

Ten days until handover....assuming the bank does their end correctly. We have paid our final section of the amount owed to Metricon, and now are just awaiting the bank to do their section.

Did the final practical completion check today. Everything looked completed. Found some spots in the garage that had been missed, and some small spots in other rooms, but over all, the job is almost perfect. Our Site supervisor told me that the inspection done by the contractor came up 100% which is virtually never heard of. The inspector was impressed with the quality of the paint work done, and I would also agree. They have done a great job...glad I got their phone number ;-> .

I pointed out the lights which were not working. These will be fixed when the electricians return to add the appliances. We also noted the large bifold doors need some cleaning to remove some of the stain from off the windows. I pointed out that I suspect the air conditioner is getting a backflow from the "water outlet" near the gutter, and this is going back along the inside of the gutter and dripping in the corner.  Time will tell on this as we can't be certain until living there a while.

The site supervisor said I am able to organise the gas now if I wanted to... I have applied to Origin to get the gas connected. Insurance has been completed.

Faxed the final details through to the bank today as well. The site supervisor said I may need to push it aloing so they are ready to go for the 18th.
