Day 182 - March 27th (Day 38)

Worked on the deck this weekend, and also picked up some of the shutters that we accidently measured wrong. The guys at Shutterkits were great, cutting them down to size...luckily we measured to big!

I thought I might finish the deck this weekend but my father was sick, so I was left to work on it alone. It takes longer doing it by yourself. Anyway, got the ife to give me a hand today, and we almost completed it. we have another 40 cm to go and some timber to add around the posts and around the edge of the deck.

I took some photo of the progress thus far...Looking forward to getting the garage back! Will complete it next weekend and then oil it.

  1. Hey Robert,

Has anything been done about your phone line/internet. I just got my connected last Friday through Telstra, but have to sign up with internet with someone else. How's your situation going. When I moved it, there was a cabling guy who come to finish to the job from the front boundary to the exchange box. He couldn't finish it because there was issues with my driveway, I had it fixed when I had my concrete guy here, and it's only been now that we've been successfully able to have the phone connected. The cabling guy was organised by Metricon. I thought I would have to pay him, turns out no.

  2. Hey Jay,

Actually I got it switched on Yesterday! I found out that iiNet have had it ready to go since Tuesday, but no one bothered to tell me.

Anyway... When I phoned I tried to get a phone and internet deal..through iiNet..then Telstra..Got knocked back on each attempt.

Then I thought perhaps it was that we had no phone line and this must be casuing the techs difficulties. Turns out I was right. Got the phone on, and then went to get ADSL back on.

Then found out the exchange can only handle ADSL 1. That was fine by me, so we went ahead. iiNet decided that I really wanted ADSL2+ so delayed installing as it wasn't available (I already knew this!) So they got it switched on on Tuesday, and then I phoned them Sunday and got it connected.

    Phhhheeeww....

Our phone line was connected to the house (Thanks Telstra for charging me $299 to connect me up!)

anyway...Got anymore done around the house?

  3. Yeah, Telstra charge me the same amount. I'm having the same issue, can only get ADSL1. The problem is trying to find someone to provide it for me.

  5. Haven't done much extra. Waiting for turf to be laid next Wednesday/Thursday. Got a stack load of new furniture. Bookshelves, study table, entertainment unit, still want to buy more decor stuff. I'll leave that to the missus.
